Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.

Contact us

Email support@bodywyse.io with a question, a problem or an idea. For a problem, tell us the device (iPhone, Apple Watch, Android or a browser), what you were doing and what happened; a screenshot helps. Please use the email address you sign in with, so we can find your account.

Signing in

How do I sign in? There’s no password.

Enter your email and BodyWyse sends a 6-digit code to type in. The first code you request creates your account. To use BodyWyse on another phone or the web, sign in there with the same email.

The code hasn’t arrived.

Codes usually arrive within a minute. Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure the email address is spelled right. You can ask for a new code once a minute.

Training

Where does my 1RM come from?

You can enter a one-rep max yourself on the exercise’s page. Otherwise BodyWyse estimates it with the Epley formula from your best set of that exercise in the last four weeks. The 85, 90 and 95% buttons fill a set from it, rounded down to the nearest 5 lb.

How do I set up the Apple Watch app?

Install BodyWyse on the watch (it comes with the iPhone app; see the Watch app on your iPhone), then open BodyWyse on the iPhone while signed in. The watch signs in as you on its own within a few moments. The watch logs strength sessions; runs, walks and rides are logged on the phone or come in from Apple Health.

A workout shows up twice in Apple Health.

A session recorded on the watch is saved to Apple Health by the watch, and the phone skips it. If you see a duplicate, please email us with the date of the session.

Apple Health and Health Connect

What does BodyWyse read and write?

Only what you allow. It can read daily steps, workouts from other apps and devices, and weigh-ins (the last 30 days, then going forward), and save your weigh-ins, training sessions and food entries. The privacy policy has the details.

Steps or workouts aren’t showing up.

Check that BodyWyse is allowed to read them. On iPhone, open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps › BodyWyse. On Android, open Health Connect › App permissions › BodyWyse. Then reopen BodyWyse: it syncs when it opens and when you come back to it.

Food and AI credits

What are AI credits?

BodyWyse is free. The features that use AI cost credits, and every account starts with 50. A described meal is 1 credit, a meal photo 3 credits, swap ideas for a planned meal 2 credits and an edited meal 1 credit. A week’s meal plan is 6 credits with one menu, up to 24 credits with a new menu every day. The cost is shown before you tap. Entering food yourself is always free.

How accurate are the food estimates?

They’re a good starting point, not a lab measurement. Each estimate shows what it assumed about portions and cooking, and you can change any number before logging it. Weighing portions makes them much more accurate.

How are my calorie and macro targets set?

From your profile and goal, using the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and published protein guidance. The Targets page under Food shows the reasoning and sources, and you can set your own numbers. Once you’ve logged food and weigh-ins for a few weeks, BodyWyse also estimates your real maintenance calories from them.

Your account

How do I delete my account?

Go to Account and choose Delete account. It removes your account and everything in it right away. Data BodyWyse saved to Apple Health or Health Connect stays there until you remove it.

Is my data private?

Yes. There are no ads or trackers, and your data is never sold or used for marketing. Read the privacy policy.

BodyWyse is not a medical device. Food estimates, targets and meal plans are approximations, not medical advice; talk to a doctor or dietitian before big changes to your diet or training.
